Fun, fun, fun...

We made it through our first gym class, barely. First we got lost on the way there. Then when we got there we were cut off going into the driveway by the instructor. So, we followed her in. It was cold, 49 degrees Fahrenheit or 9 degree Celsius and raining. We hurried to get parked and to get both kids out of the car so we could follow this lady in. Just as we got up to the door she shut it in our faces. It was locked. At first I thought it might be stuck, so I kept trying. Then I knocked. What did I hear? "We're not open." Seriously. It was all I could do to keep from blowing my top.

Back to the car we trod through the rain. I put the kids on the drivers side car seat and stood in the door hoping the awning would keep me dry (see picture). I called our friend who was supposed to be meeting us there and asked her if I was in the right place. She said I was and when I told her what happened she said not to let it bother me that this woman does that to everyone. Oh Lord.

We finally got in 15 minutes later. We all took of our shoes off in the non-heated building and went over to the white mat. Cupcake liked running around and loved the big mirror, but once the class started she spent the next 25 minutes alternately crying, throwing herself on the floor, or running away. My friend took Bubba for me so I could try to help Cupcake. UGH! She didn't decide she wanted to use the equipment until we only had about 10 minutes left. So she walked on the balance boards, climbed on the mats, over the horse, jumped on the trampoline and almost crawled through the tunnel. About that time she decided she liked it and didn't want to leave. Meanwhile, I got an excellent workout chasing her around for an hour.

Ian Laughing

This is the Ian version of the infamous laughing video we made of Olivia last year. It is very funny. I dare you to watch it and not laugh. Ian is 10 mos old now and doing very well. He weighs almost as much as Olivia (I think she weighs like 1 lb more). He has one tooth (half-way out), eats 2-4 jars of baby food and loves to play. He is trying to walk, but not quite making it. It won't be long!

Olivia is 20 mos (can you believe it?). She is running, climbing, jumping, and trying to keep Bubba out of trouble. She eats what she wants, still drinks two cans of PediaSure a day, and usually sleeps all night (shares a room with Bubba). She is a very sweet girl with a big stubborn streak. She LOVES church and has made many new friends. She is beginning to talk more, saying new words (that we understand) every day.

We are so blessed and thank God everyday for our kids!

Nappy Boxes

You have to look at these photos in order. They are so cute. Olivia loves climbing in and out of boxes. We had to put Ian in his box, but when we did the fun really started. These two are your typical siblings. They fight and push, but they also love each other and play very well together.

Ian's First Photos--birth to 6 weeks!

These are the first pictures of Ian. When he was born the social workers from our adoption agency flew from Dallas with him to San Antonio where he lived with foster parents the first 6 weeks of his life. His foster parents are lovely Christian people and they took excellent care of him. Ian even had a big sister during that time who was very helpful in caring for him--the foster parent's teenage daughter.

It took some doing, because the memory card had been lost, but his foster Mom found these photos and sent them to us. What a blessing!
